Express Employment Professionals is looking to add an Experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Palm City, FL area.
SUMMARY OF
Responsibilities:
The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the organization in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
The CFO will be responsible for taking on a leadership role and will provide strategic financial input to the CEO and Board of Directors, as well as manage the Human Resources function and staff.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Provides and performs complex accounting and management functions including the following:
- Ensure financial performance of the organization meets all applicable guidelines
- Oversees all aspects of financial operations and staff, including, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant billing and procurement.
- Oversees the Human Resources function and staff.
- Manage financial controls and accounting procedures.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the overall mission.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism to meet operating needs.
- Prepares monthly financial statements and reporting, for presentation to the CEO and Board of Directors, no later than the Friday prior to the Executive Committee meeting (currently the 3rd Tuesday of the month).
- Prepares the annual budget and modifications, as needed.
- Prepares extensive grant budgets.
- Handles all aspects of contract management including local, state and federal grants.
- Review organization costs and prepare a strategy for cost reduction.
- Manage the preparation for annual external audit.
- Manage the banking relationships and ensure adequate financing is available to meet the needs of the organization.
- Manage the investment of additional funds to maximize a return and ensure no risk of loss to the organization.
- Effectively and clearly communicate potential risks in a timely manner to CEO and Board, as applicable.
- Assists the CEO with special projects.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Board of Directors and/or the CEO.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to express ideas effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, gender or disability.
Qualifications:
10
years experience in a senior financial managerial position.
Advanced computer skills including MS Office and financial reporting software.
CPA preferred.
Not-for-profit experience preferred.
